Floral Statements on Vellum

I have seen a lot of cards on Pinterest using the Floral Statements Stamp set.  The stamps are absolutely gorgeous and can be coloured in many different ways.

I chose to stamp the Thanks with the roses stamp onto some Vellum using the Basic Black Archival Ink.  I quickly sprinkled it with clear embossing powder and embossed it.  The great thing about the Stampin' Up! vellum is that it will take the heat gun well and wont warp.

I coloured the roses and leaves from the back of the vellum, giving it a stained glass look.  I used the Stampin' Write markers - Berry Burst and Pear Pizzazz.

I mounted the Vellum using glue dots behind the letters on a piece of Whisper White cardstock and matted it on Basic Black Cardstock (all measurements below).  I popped this up on dimensionals onto the Berry Burst background which is layered on the Basic Black card base.

Measurements: Card Base - 21cm x 14.5cm
                          Berry Burst Layer - 10cm x 14
                          Basic Black - Inner Layer - 9cm x 12cm
                          Whisper White - 8.5cm x 11.5cm
                          Vellum - 8.5cm x 11.5cm

Wetlands with Polished Stone Background

I really enjoyed making the polished stone background, I decided to do another one in blues.

Love how this card turned out.

The colours I used on this were Island Indigo, Tempting Turquoise and Garden Green.  See previous post for the Polished stone technique.

I stamped the Goose in Archival Black Ink.  I allowed it to dry and then very gently water-coloured using a blender pen.  I stamped on Whisper White cardstock, so you need to be very light with the blending or the paper will pill.  Ideally I should have used either Shimmery white or Watercolour paper which take the technique much better.  I water-coloured using markers on an acrylic block - markers used were garden green, tempting turquoise, island indigo, Calypso coral (beak) and So Saffron (brushes).

The goose, greeting and reeds are all from the Wetlands Stamp Set.  Sadly this stamp set retired, but I like to use both my old and new items.

The goose is layered on a Garden Green Mat which is also layered on another piece of Whisper White.  The card base is Island Indigo.

I added a small amount of fine tip glue to the goose's chest, wings, cheek and also the brushes in the weeds and sprinkled them with a little Dazzling Diamonds glitter for a little sparkle and bling.

Inside, I used another stamp from the set for the birds and lightly water-coloured the water they are standing in.  The sentiment is from the Special Celebrations Stamp Set in the new annual catalogue.  I really love this stamp set that is all sentiments for all different occasions.

Supplies List
Stamp Sets: Wetlands & Special Celebrations.
Cardstock: Island Indigo, Whisper White, Old Olive and Glossy (for the polished stone background)
Ink: Basic Black Archival Ink, Island Indigo, Garden Green & Tempting Turquoise
Markers: Island Indigo, Tempting Turquoise, Garden Green, Calypso Coral & So Saffron.
Other: Rubbing Alcohol & Cotton Balls (for polished stone technique), Dazzling Diamonds,  & Fine Tip Glue.

Tranquil Tulips - Host/Hostess Set

I so love this Hostess Set.  This card is very simple, yet elegant.

The Tranquil Tulip Stamp Set is available for anyone who purchases over $250 worth of product.  This can be achieved by hosting a workshop/party event, or by your own sales.  You do not have to host a party to get the host sets.

The tulips and created using the 2 step stamping technique.  I just used Real Red for them and achieved the variation in colour by stamping off for the bottom layer.  I actually stamped the tulips first so that they were positioned exactly where I wanted them.

I then stamped the stems, followed by the leaves.  The stamp set is Photopolymer, so you can see straight through them for perfect positioning.  If you aren't very good at lining up your stamps, use the Stamp-a-ma-jig - it is positively awesome.  I use it for most of my greetings as I have a habit of stamping them crooked!

The card is made with the following measurements:

Base of card measures 21cm x 15cm (basically A4 cut in half) and scored at 10.5cm
Real Red mat is cut at 14.5cm x 10cm
Whisper White mat is cut at 14cm x 9.5cm.

Supply List
Stamp Sets: Tranquil Tulips & Soft Sayings Card Kit (Sentiment)
Cardstock - Real Red, Whisper White
Inks: Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Wild Wasabi & Crushed Curry

Birthday Butterfly with Polished Stone Background

I got the idea for this card, the colour and butterflies from the very talented Dawn Griffith.  Dawn has been a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator in the USA for a long time and is a fantastic teacher.  If you haven't checked out her YouTube videos do yourself a favour.

Now that Stampin' Up! has returned the Glossy cardstock, the polished stone technique is a no brainer.  It is so easy to do and it makes the perfect background.  All you need is glossy cardstock, cotton balls, re-inkers and rubbing alcohol.  I purchased mine from Coles.  You get a big bottle for about $8.

All you need to do is put some rubbing alcohol on the cotton ball, then drop a few drops of the re-inkers of your colour choice on the cotton ball and then dab away on the glossy cardstock in whatever way/pattern you like.  Hey presto and you have a perfect background or feature for your card.

To finish off this card, I used two different die sets - Bold Butterfly Framelits and Butterflies Thinlits Dies.  Finished off with some Rhinestones and a lovely sentiment cut out using the circle punches and this stunning card was done.

Of course the inside is also matted with the Basic Black and Lemon Lime Twist cardstock and then the Whisper White to allow writing.  Stamped with the beautiful butterflies in the Sharing Sweet Thoughts stamp set.  Don't forget any purchase of this stamp set results in a donation to Ronald McDonald House.

Supplies Used
Stamp Sets: Bunch of Blossoms (sentiment on front of card), Special Celebrations (Sentiment inside card) and Sharing Sweet Thoughts (butterflies inside card)
Die Sets: Bold Butterfly Framelits and Butterflies Thinlits
Punches: 1-3/8" Circle Punch and 1-1/2" Circle Punch
Inks: Basic Black and Lemon Lime Twist
Cardstock: Lemon Lime Twist, Basic Black, Whisper White and Glossy.
Other: Re-inkers (Basic Black & Lemon Lime Twist), Rhinestones, Cottonballs, Rubbing Alcohol.

Pretty Kitty Twist & Fold Pop Up Card

As it is my daughter's 16th birthday, I decided that I wanted to make something special and something different.  I had seen all these amazing twist and fold pop up cards and decided that I would give it a go.  The hardest thing was that everything was in imperial measurements - inches!  As we use metric here, I spent all day working out the best way to make it.  Lucky you, I have it all here.  I will link a tutorial at the bottom of the post.

My daughter loves cats, so the Pretty Kitty stamp set suited this type of card perfectly.  Here is the finished product 😊 The inside first -

These are the 4 panels across the centre of the card that pop up.  I added the balloon, party hats and present just as something extra.  The balloon is stamped and then fussy cut out and popped up on a dimensional for pop, as are the little party hats. I also used a little fine tip glue pen on the balloon to adhere some Dazzling Diamonds for more sparkle.  The present has had fine tip glue pen to it to give it dimension.

Of course, plenty of bling was added!

The top and bottom panels were also decorated:
The second panel (with the flowers) is where I wrote on the card.  I used the flowers to tie into the Designer Series paper that I used.  Although this paper (Blooms & Wishes) has retired, the stamp set has not, so this paper could easily be recreated just with the stamps.

The colour scheme for the card is mainly Bermuda Bay, Island Indigo and a touch of Mint Macaron.  The colouring is all done with Stampin' Write Markers.  A full list of supplies will be included at the end.

Now the outside:

I used the Happy Birthday Thinlits Dies and the Large Numbers Dies.  I cut out 5 of each to layer them to make them stand out.  For the top layer, I covered it in Versa Mark and then clear embossing powder and heat set.  It is smooth, shiny and gives it a real WOW.

I had so much fun making this card and my daughter was blown away.

Good luck - give it a go

Taking a Break

Hi All,

I am so sorry for not posting anything for the last week or so.  Unfortunately this is my busiest time with work - end of financial year ( I work for a financial adviser)...

My daughter also asked for a room makeover for her 16th birthday so a lot of my creativity has been going in that direction when not working.

Please know...  I will be back soon with posts of my creations.

You can still contact me for questions anytime and I promise to be in touch with you within 24 hours.

See you soon 😁

Vertical Greetings Birthday Card

I have had this stamp set for a long time now and had never used it, so I thought it was time.

I used the marker to stamp technique for this as I wanted the different colours on the stamp.  To keep the position, I used the Stamp-a-ma-jig, so I knew it would line up every time.

I stamped the flower petals with Sweet Sugarplum, the stem with Old Olive, flower pot with Chocolate Chip and the Sentiment with Blushing Bride.  This was all stamped on a 2-1/2" x 5" piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock with rounded corners.  This was backed with a small piece of Blushing Bride placed on an angle to create interest.  A thin strip of copper ribbon tied in the chocolate chip background.  The main background being Sweet Sugarplum and all mounted on a Thick Whisper White Card base.  A few of the larger pearls made this a little classier.  Quick and Easy.

Supply List
Stamp Set: Vertical Greetings
Cardstock: Whisper White, Chocolate Chip, Blushing Bride & Sweet Sugarplum.
Ink: Blushing Bride - sentiment
Stampin' Write Markers: Sweet Sugarplum, Old Olive, Chocolate Chip
Other: Copper Ribbon, Perls, Stampin' Dimensionals & Wink of Stella

Happy Birthday Gorgeous

I wanted to make a card that showcased the beautiful "Happy Birthday Dies".  The whole set is just gorgeous.  It consists of the Happy Birthday Gorgeous Stamp Set and Happy Birthday Thinlits.

I die cut the Happy Birthday 3 times using Flirty Flamingo cardstock and glued them together - would have been much easier if I had some adhesive sheets!  I cut out the large Stitched circle framelit using Whisper White cardstock.
The background is the Hexagons Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and it gives such a pop!
I stamped the flowers using the stamp off technique in Flirty Flamingo and So Saffron.  The leaves were stamped in Pear Pizzazz and very lightly watercoloured to match the flower look.  These were then fussy cut out and mounted on dimensionals.  A small pearl in the middle and they looked great.

The base of the card is Pear Pizzazz cardstock and layered with the So Saffron embossed hexagons.  A small piece of Peekaboo Peach, circle of Whisper White to make the Flirty Flamingo words pop out even more and a small banner of Pear Pizzazz behind the circle.  Of course wink of stella was used in abundance on the happy birthday!
Inside I stamped a couple of Peekaboo Peach flowers.

Supply List
Stamp Set: Happy Birthday Gorgeous
Dies: Happy Birthday Thinlits & Stitched Shapes Framelits
Cardstock: Pear Pizzazz, So Saffron, Peekaboo Peach, Whisper White and Flirty Flamingo
Ink: Flirty Flamingo, So Saffron, Pear Pizzazz & Peekaboo Peach
Embossing Folder: Hexagons Dynamic Textured Impressions
Other: Stampin' Dimensionals, Basic Pearls & Wink of Stella

Pretty Kitty Window Card

I really like the animal stamp sets and find them really useful for any kind of occasion.  I love the Pretty Kitty Stamp Set and enjoyed making this window card - peek through card.

I stamped the kitty in the pot on the inside of my card where I wanted the window to be.  I then put the circle framelit with the ridge side facing up and a little micropore tape on it in the position that I wanted the window to be around the kitty.  I then closed the front of the card and pressed lightly.  This allowed the micropore tape and die to adhere to the front piece of the card.  Run this through the bigshot and it will cut out your window perfectly.

I then used the same size circle and the one larger scalloped circle and cut out a piece of Berry Burst cardstock to frame the window.
The Designer Series paper is Colour Theory and has so many gorgeous options.  I coloured my kitty in with the Stampin' Write markers and then stamped the sentiment with Basic Black.

Supply List
Stamp Set: Pretty Kitty
Dies: Layering Circles Framelits (this set contains both circles and scalloped circles)
Cardstock: Whisper White & Berry Burst
Designer Series Paper: Colour Theory
Ink: Basic Black Archival Ink
Stampin' Write Markers: Berry Burst, Daffodil Delight, Peekaboo Peach, Basic Gray, Powder Pink, Old Olive & Calypso Coral.

Father's Day - Guy Greetings

After making so many flowery cards, I decided it was time to make something a little more masculine.  I thought I would try making some Father's Day cards - always good to be prepared.  I was really happy with this one.  I have used the Guy Greetings Stamp Set.

I created the background piece by stamping the car with Crumb Cake ink on Crumb Cake Cardstock.  I then stamped the main feature in Early Espresso on the Crumb Cake and layered it by leaving a 1/4" all around.  I used Basic Black, Early Espresso and Crumb Cake as my layers.  The sentiment is also stamped in Early Espresso and is also from the same stamp set.  A very easy card that needed very few supplies.

Supply List
Stamp Set: Guy Greetings
Cardstock: Basic Black, Early Espresso & Crumb Cake
Ink: Crumb Cake & Early Espresso
Other: Stampin' Dimensionals, Snail Adhesive.

Eastern Palace Gate Fold Card

Here we are again.  I wanted to do something different with this Eastern Palace bundle that I got while I am waiting for my order to come through with product from the new catalogue.

I decided to use some of the designs I came up with from the stamp set and also wanted to try a different card fold.  Here is the finished project.

The card is constructed using only Melon Mambo, Basic Black and Whisper White cardstock.  I decided to make my own backgound paper using one of the stamps from the Eastern Palace Stamp set.  The sentiment, embossed with White embossing powder is also from the set.  The medallions are both from the Eastern Medallions Thinlits Dies and backed them both on scalloped circles from the Layering Circles Thinlits.  The centre of the large medallion has the small stitched circle framelit and the small medallion has a Rhinestone in the centre.  The small medallion is on dimensionals and is used to keep the card closed.

Inside I used one of the designs I came up with from the stamp set.

Both the medallion and sentiment come from the Eastern Palace Stamp Set.

These are some of the designs that I came up with just using that one set.  I know there are many more...

It was a little bit like spirograph for some of them.  It was a lot of fun!

To make the Gate Fold Card, see the instructions below

Imperial (Inches) - Cut cardstock 8-1/4" by 5-3/4".
Score at 2-1/8" x 8-3/8"

Metric - Cut cardstock 21cm x 15cm
Score at 5.25cm and 15.75cm

It is really that easy!

Supply List
Stamp Set: Eastern Palace
Dies: Eastern Medallion, Layering Circles & Stitched Shapes Framelits
Cardstock: Basic Black, Melon Mambo, Whisper White
Ink: Melon Mambo, Basic Black, Versamark
Other: White Embossing Powder, Rhinestone, Stampin' Dimensionals.
