My Swaps for Onstage

So, to get all those wonderful swaps in my last post, I had to make swaps myself.  As I hadn't been to onstage before I wasn't sure exactly what was expected, so I made a variety of items.

I chose a theme for card swaps and decided on the "Checkered Card with Focal Point" Theme.  I made 50 cards, 10 of each style.  I also made some 3-D projects - see below.

Basically, these are made by cutting different coloured squares of 4cm x 4 cm and then using any stamp set or dies as the focal point.  On the Christmas card I used Designer Series Paper, but all the rest I chose a stamp from the stamp set and used that to create my own Designer Series Paper.

Card 1
Here I chose Calypso Coral and Peekaboo Peach  Cardstock and Ink as the main colours.  I used the Cool Treats Stamp Set and coordinating Frozen Treats Dies.  I used the Triple Banner Punch for the sentiment and stuck it all together - too easy!

Here I used Pool Party and So Saffron Cardstock and ink.  I stamped the Bird and sentiment in Archival Black.  The Bird and branch is from the Best Birds Stamp Set and I cut it out using the coordinating dies.  The bird and branch are coloured using the Stampin' Write Markers.  The background is stamped using smaller stamps in the stampset.  Again, I used the Triple Banner Punch on the sentiment.

For this card I used some Designer Series Paper from the Be Merry Paper Pack.  The Snowman and Reindeer are stamped using the Seasonal Chums Stamp Set and cut out using the Seasonal Tags Framelits.  They are coloured using the Stampin' Write Markers.  The sentiment is stamped from the Labels to Love Stamp Set and Punched out with the Label Punch.  A quick, easy and gorgeous Christmas Card.

The Cardstock and Ink Colours used on this card were Island Indigo and Rich Razzleberry.  Again the background is created with stamps within the Dragonfly Dreams Stamp Set.  Cut out with the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits.  A bit of wink of stella and some Rhinestones make this card pop.  The sentiment is from the Daisy Delight Stamp Set and punched with the Triple Banner Punch.

This card uses Flirty Flamingo and Sweet Sugarplum Cardstock and Ink.  The Stamp Set Used is the Flower Shop and punched out using the Pansy Punch.  The sentiment is from the Happy Birthday Gorgeous Stamp Set.  The Triple Banner Punch is used on the sentiment.

So as you can see, the theme is the same, but the focal point makes it a different card.  I also made several other cards using the same theme which I will showcase over the next couple of weeks.

I also made some 3-D projects as a swap.

This is my One Sheet Wonder Box.  It is very easy to make and I will add the template to the bottom of the post.  If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.  I made 30 of these, 6 of each In-colour - Pink Pirouette, Berry Burst, Fresh Fig, Tranquil Tide and Lemon Lime Twist.  Inside was the instructions on how to make the box and also a yummy treat.

One Sheet Folding Box

·        Start with a piece of cardstock measuring 8 x5 ½ inches
·        On the 8 inch side, score at 1”, 3 ½ “, 4 ½ “and 7”.
·        On the 5 ½ inch side, score at 1”, turn 180 degrees and score at 1” again.
·        On the 8 inch side, cut the score lines up to the 1” score line on both sides (not along the 5 ½ “ side).
·        Cut on the small sections on an angle as per the diagram.
·        Using a score tool, burnish all score lines.
·        Fold the tabs inside and the box folds up on itself to form the shape required.
·        Glue just the tabs.
·        Decorate. DSP: One  3 ¼’ x 2 ¼’ (top) Two 3 ¼ ‘ x ¾ ‘ (sides) and two 2 ¼ ‘ x ¾’ (sides)

·        I used the ½ inch circle punch just on the lid flap to make it easier to open.
